Nestlé introduces new indulgent boxed KitKat chocolates

Kitkat senses box with three wrapped chocolates next to it; salted caramel, hazelnut and double chocolate

KITKAT fans in the UK and Ireland will soon have a new way to enjoy their favourite confectionery as Nestlé launches KITKAT Senses, indulgent KITKAT chocolates in three new, luxurious flavours: hazelnut, double chocolate and salted caramel.

KITKAT Senses is a box of individually-wrapped bite-size chocolates, each with the combination of delicious KITKAT chocolate and wafer and either a layer of indulgent praline and crunchy pieces of hazelnut (hazelnut), salted caramel filling infused with crunchy caramel flakes (salted caramel) or rich chocolate ganache and crunchy cocoa nibs (double chocolate).

Not only does KITKAT Senses taste great, it looks great too. Once popped open each box can be turned into a sharing platter making it ideal for dipping into with friends and family on those special occasions.

The launch of a more indulgent KITKAT product is a big innovation for Nestlé confectionery in 2018 and follows the introduction of premium brand, Les Recettes De L’Atelier last month.

Alex Gonnella, Marketing Director for Nestlé’s UK confectionery business said:

“KITKAT Senses is a more premium format that gives people the opportunity to enjoy their favourite KITKAT in a different way, it’s ideal for sharing with friends and family, looks great on the table and makes a perfect gift.

“We are very proud of these new chocolates, they taste fantastic and come in flavours we know consumers love.

“As with the introduction of Les Recettes de L’Atelier this is another example of us developing a new, innovative product that gives consumers a more luxury option. I’m sure it will be a big hit.”

It’s been a busy start of the year for KITKAT.

The brand kicked off 2018 by introducing new character: Joe the Mug to highlight how KITKAT and a hot drink are the perfect break partners and a new, fun promotion gives KITKAT fans the chance to win one of 50,000 thermochromic Joe the Mugs.

Also, the new KITKAT Lemon Drizzle joined the KITKAT family and was launched exclusively at Asda with plans to roll out nationally later in the year.

  • KITKAT Senses will be available from 27thFebruary in two varieties: a mixed box which contains all three flavours as well as a hazelnut only box.
  • The launch will be supported by a £7 million campaign across 2018 launching from 19th March. This will include new TV advertising as well as communication across social and digital media and a national sampling campaign.
