Connect, collaborate and develop solutions – creating pathways towards a regenerative food system

“We see global warming not as an inevitability but as an invitation to build, innovate and effect change, a pathway that awakens creativity, compassion, and genius. This is not a liberal agenda, nor is it a conservative one. This is the human agenda.”

Paul Hawken, Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming

As one of the largest food producers in the UK and the world, we know we need to play our part in meeting net zero targets, alongside finding ways to create shared value through the food system. We are already finding ways to contribute to a regenerative food system, but also know we don’t have all the answers. That’s why we want to listen to a wide range of expertise and experience to help us forge the best way forward. We want to help the food system collaborate, transform and regenerate.

Meeting with stakeholders

Nestlé UK, with expert colleagues from our global organisation, will host a series of stakeholder convenings, and produce a summary of its findings, in 2022. Ideal outcomes will identify pathways or initiatives towards a regenerative food system, some specific to Nestlé, others for the food industry more broadly, and also holistic pathways for government, civil society and industry in collaboration.

The topics for the convenings will be drawn from our current thoughts on regenerative agriculture and moving on from there, a regenerative food system, adapted or augmented to reflect feedback from stakeholders.

The following topic areas are likely to be the ones that we’ll focus our agendas on:

Share your thoughts, expertise and experience

If your organisation is actively engaged in addressing these challenges, please let us have authentic feedback about what works and what doesn’t, your major challenges and what might help overcome them. Tell us what projects you want us to continue supporting and expanding and what new areas we need to explore.

All contributions will be read and considered in the search for long-term food system solutions. Help start shaping the future of the food and farming industry.
