Staff at Nestlé in York are proudly displaying the rainbow flag ahead of the city’s Pride celebrations on Saturday 10th June.
A group of employees will also take part in Saturday’s parade through York for the very first time. Nestlé’s participation follows the launch of a company-wide LGBT+ network earlier this year as part of its wider commitment to diversity and inclusion. The York event is North Yorkshire’s largest Pride and is a family friendly, community driven celebration of diversity and LGBT+ inclusion.
The rainbow flag is being displayed outside the site’s factory, the Nestlé House offices and the Product Technology Centre along Haxby Road.
Emma Scott, who co-founded Nestlé’s LGBT+ network and is an IT graduate in York, said: “Taking part in York Pride 2017 has been a huge achievement for the LGBT+ network this year and we’re proud of how far we’ve come in such a short space of time. We’ve seen a great commitment from our business and senior leaders in support for the event allowing us to get involved in the community & celebrate the value of diversity & LGBT+ inclusion in York.”
The parade leaves York Minster at 11:45am before an afternoon of entertainment, food and fun at the Knavesmire until 7pm when the party moves on to Mansion Nightclub at Micklegate. Find more information at www.yorkpride.org.uk/york-pride-2017
