Take a look inside our Halifax factory to see how we make and fill our SMARTIES Eggs.
This year, our factory in Halifax made a staggering 13.5 million of Easter eggs, incl. KITKAT, SMARTIES, AERO and ROLO.
It took over 1,400 tons of chocolate, real team effort and a complex and high-tech process to make this huge amount of Easter eggs.
During the Easter egg season, which is one of the factory’s busiest periods, the production runs for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Everyone has input, so there is a lot of shared feeling of that job and that contribution when it’s finished’ - said Toni Biggin, area manager at our Halifax factory who oversees production of Easter eggs, in her interview with The Halifax Courier.
She added: “Lots of the employees have children and grandchildren and love that feeling people get that the Easter products provide. So it is a good family feeling when they get to the end.”
