Nestlé UK & Ireland‘s Community Regeneration Lead Robin Sundaram has picked up the Special Achievement award at the Footprint Awards 2023 for his “outstanding contribution to global responsible sourcing guidelines and supplier-engagement commitments” over the last 30 years.

The black-tie event, which celebrates sustainability and responsible business practice of companies in the out-of-home sector, took place at The Royal Institute of British Architects on Thursday 8 June 2023.

Speaking after the event, Robin Sundaram, Community Regeneration Lead at Nestlé UK & Ireland, said: “It was an honour to be recognised at the awards, which celebrate sustainability in the foodservice and hospitality industry.

“At Nestlé, we are always looking for ways to improve the way we source and produce food responsibly, and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to improve our supply chain and support the people who work within them.

“I’d like to thank some of our key partners who do such important work in this space with me, from the WildHearts Foundation who champion social mobility, to First Milk, the regenerative dairy cooperative, that works tirelessly to make dairy a force for good, it’s truly a team effort.”

Nestlé Professional, Nestlé’s out-of-home foodservice provider was also shortlisted for five awards on the night. The categories were: Sustainable Supplier through the Nescafé 2030 Plan, Environmentally Efficient Logistics due to Nestlé’s own-fleet of Bio-LNG trucks, Sustainable Use of Natural Resources through the Nescafé Gold Blend Alta Rica carbon reduction programme, Sustainability in Education through its Toque d’Or competition 2023 and Social Impact & Diversity by promoting hospitality careers.
