The latest event as part of Nestlé and First Milk’s Next Generation Dairy Leaders Programme took six young farmers to a range of organisations and the Houses of Parliament to discuss the politics of agri-food and the future of the dairy industry. Six young farmers from Scotland and Cumbria visited the NFU (National Farmers Union) offices and met representatives from the NFU and HSBC Bank to discuss the main challenges facing the sector and opportunities the changing dairy landscape could provide. The next day the farmers toured the Houses of Parliament and met with George Eustice, Minister of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to discuss how the British agricultural sector could look after Brexit. Each farmer had some challenging questions for the Minister off the back of informative sessions the previous day.
