Nestlé in the UK is celebrating after it picked up the best Education Initiative Award for the ‘Nestlé Academy Campus Team Initiative’ at the prestigious FDF Awards, a celebration of the UK’s food and drink manufacturing industry. Nestlé in Dalston, a village near Carlisle in Cumbria, is celebrating its factory and its village setting in a new video released this week as part of a series profiling the UK communities where Nestlé has a presence. The factory produces a vast range of Nescafé Gold Frothy Coffees, Nescafé Azera Cappuccino and Latte and Coffee Mate, a whitener for beverages – all for the UK and export around the world.

A new bench has been installed in Sandhurst that was created from recycled Nescafé Dolce Gusto pods. The bench, on the town’s Yorktown Road, was created by SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, Bracknell Forest Council and Nescafé Dolce Gusto to celebrate the success of a 2017 pod collection trial. Bracknall Forest residents registered their Nescafé Dolce Gusto machines with Nestlé, or signed up via the council, and were given pink bags to store their used coffee pods. These were collected at the kerbside along with rubbish and mixed recycling, this opt-in service ran for a six-month period. Continue reading here.
