Georgia Hayes, first year manufacturing apprentice at Nestlé Tutbury, was invited to speak at a recent event organised by DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) looking at improving the image of careers in food and farming. The event was hosted by Andrea Leadsom, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (pictured left with Georgia) and brought together organisations from across the industry who are working together to encourage more people to think about careers in food and drink. Senior policy-makers from government, food and drink company representatives and trade associations were also in attendance.
