Rainbow-burger-header

Are you looking for plant-based recipe inspiration to cook along with your kids, with the taste they will love?

Justin Clarke, our Nestlé Professional Development Chef has created a recipe and cook-along video for the Deliciously Different Rainbow Burger - an easy, nutritionally-balanced and affordable recipe which is great for family cooking and, with a parent's help, can be easily made even by the smallest of hands.

The simple recipe uses chickpeas, which are high in fibre and protein, as the base for the burger and is made with herbs, kale, carrots, sweetcorn and red pepper to add the beautiful rainbow colours. Served with a wholemeal roll, baby gem lettuce, tomatoes and a fresh homemade slaw made with vegan mayonnaise and vegan yoghurt will be an instant hit for the whole family.

"It's a lovely little recipe that anybody can make, cost-effective, with simple ingredients that are easy to purchase or change to personal preference. It is vibrant, culinarily appealing, healthy and most of all fun to cook together with children. We hope it encourages parents to cook with their kids and to try something new." says Justin Clarke.

As well as being delicious and easy to make, this family-friendly recipe is 600 kcal per serve and offers two of your five recommended portions of fruit and vegetables per day. It is also cost-efficient, coming in at under £1 per portion.
