Tackling food waste
In 2015, we reached an important milestone across our operations in the UK and Ireland – zero waste to landfill. In the decade since then, we’ve been working to further reduce the impact of our physical waste as part of our commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.
In 2016 we committed to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030. So far, we’ve reduced our food waste levels by over 40%.
We work with a network of organisations including FareShare, Food Cloud and Community Shop to redistribute surplus food and products.
