New research suggests the UK’s favourite time for a snack at work is 11:50am1. The survey questioned 500 UK office workers and found seven out of 10 of us don’t make it through the morning without snacking. The research was commissioned by Nestlé Professional which is launching its new range of Nature’s Heart products which are a delicious way to get you through until lunch time.

Over two thirds of consumers in the workplace are currently being driven outside of work to buy snacks2. This is due to a lack of choice, wanting better quality, nicer taste or because they don’t find the type of snack they want at work1. The new range of Nature’s Heart aims to fill this gap with delicious, responsibly sourced snacks.

The range is entirely vegan and is naturally indulgent. It includes goldenberries, which are sweet and tangy, high in fibre, high in iron and source of potassium. Nature’s Heart fruits and trail mixes are a delicious morning snack, while the dark chocolate fruits and glazed nuts offer consumers a sweeter more indulgent choice for an afternoon treat. The full range includes:

Blueberry & goji trail mix - Delicious blueberries, goji berries, apricots and tangy goldenberries combined with a medley of crunchy nuts and seeds. A naturally high fibre snack that’s bursting with flavour.

Strawberry, banana & pistachio trail mix - Juicy strawberries, chewy banana, tangy goldenberries and sweet goji berries combined with crunchy almonds, pistachios and seeds. A natural high fibre snack that’s bursting with flavour.

Dark chocolate goldenberries - Tangy goldenberries covered in rich dark chocolate and lightly dusted with cacao. Naturally delicious and high in fibre.

Dark chocolate bananas - Enjoy the mouth-watering taste of sweet, chewy dried banana covered in rich dark chocolate and lightly dusted with cacao. Naturally delicious and high in fibre.

Tropical mix - A delicious mix of soft, juicy mango, pineapple and banana. A tasty, natural source of fibre snack.

In 2018 Nestlé completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Terrafertil, a natural foods company and main global producer of goldenberries, following approval of relevant antitrust authorities. This investment is one of the latest examples of how Nestlé’s enhanced growth strategy harnesses the entrepreneurial spirit on which the company was founded 150 years ago.

Nature’s Heart was founded in 2005, by three brothers from Ecuador, who shared a passion for natural delicious healthy food and a dream of building a sustainable and fair business doing what they loved. When they discovered the power of the nutrient packed goldenberry which is native to their home, they realised they had an opportunity to share this berry with the world and support families of growers from their own community. Since then, the business has grown beyond the goldenberry and provides a wide range of natural, flavoursome and plant-based snacks.

The Goldenberry Plan is the responsible sourcing program of Terrafertil, one of the leading producers of goldenberries in the world. Terrafertil uses goldenberries in many products within the Nature’s Heart range. Terrafertil are improving livelihoods for hundreds of farming families in the Andes mountains of Ecuador and Colombia that grow the best goldenberries in the world. Terrafertil generate sustainable income and provide hands on training to each family, while promoting sustainable farming practices that respect the environment.
