You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain – Nestlé at York Pride 2019

Nestlé employees were among thousands taking part in this weekend’s York Pride parade and, despite heavy downpours, spirits were not dampened on the day.

The Nestlé team proudly waved three flags to highlight Nestlé’s support for all LGBTQ+ people inside and outside of the Nestlé world. The large parade started from York Minster at around noon before making its way through the city to Knavesmire racecourse. En route, one of York’s most iconic landmarks, the Mansion house was illuminated in rainbow colours and proudly flew the Pride rainbow flag to highlight the city’s support for York Pride.

Championing diversity is an important priority for Nestlé and the company supports the UN’s LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business while last year, in the UK, Nestlé signed up to become Stonewall Global Diversity Champions. The scheme provides Nestlé, which employs around 8,000 people at factories and offices across the UK and Ireland, with access to the latest expert support & resources from the world’s formative LGBT+ charity.
