Young people in the UK and Ireland have an exciting opportunity to receive financial backing for their business ideas thanks to a unique partnership between Nestlé and UNESCO.

The Youth Impact: Because You Matter scheme, successfully piloted in Latin America in 2023, is now rolling out worldwide to find youth-led projects around the globe. Young people aged 18-30 are being asked to submit project proposals that aim to make the production, processing, transportation and consumption of food more resilient and sustainable.

Successful applicants will receive 8,500 USD and be supported to develop and launch their ideas . They will also receive tailored training and mentoring which will be delivered, in part, through Nestlé’s Youth Entrepreneurship Platform (YEP), which will also serve as the central hub throughout the six-month capability programme.

Richard Watson, CEO of Nestlé UK & Ireland said: “The challenge of food security and creating resilient food systems is right at the heart of Nestlé's agenda as a food company and we have a passion and strong track record for supporting young people with skills and careers.

“That makes this is a brilliant opportunity for talented and ambitious young people to make their mark and I’d love to see applicants from the UK and Ireland among the winners. Good luck to all those who submit a proposal.”

Applications are now open at https://unesco.nestleyouthentrepreneurship.com/ and proposals must be submitted by 8th April 2025.
