Nestlé Tutbury Celebrates Community and Creativity at their Bees and Butterflies Event

Excited children

This week, Nestlé Tutbury factory hosted its Bees and Butterflies event, a fun-filled community celebration for children aged up to 12 years. The day was packed with outdoor activities, nature-inspired crafts, music, games and creative workshops, bringing local families together during the summer holidays.

This year's event had a special theme inspired by Victorian England, reflecting the factory's celebrations of its 125th anniversary. Children enjoyed taking part in a range of hands-on activities - making peg dolls, transforming old books into hedgehog sculptures and making bees and butterflies out of clay. Families enjoyed visits from a local animal farm, a traditional puppet show and a bubble artist.

Bees and Butterflies event was launched four years ago to provide families with a free day of activities during the summer holidays while encouraging children to enjoy the outdoors and discover new creative skills.

Adults were also able to enjoy complimentary refreshments, including some of the latest additions to the Nescafé range. As the home of Nescafé in the UK, Nestlé Tutbury served Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Nescafé Ready to Drink Iced Coffee and the new Nescafé Espresso Concentrates, offering a refreshing summer treat for adults attending the event.

David Guest, Tutbury Factory Manager, said: "It's wonderful to see so many local families come together for a day of outdoor activities here at our Nestlé Tutbury site. This year's Victorian-inspired crafts made the event even more special as we celebrate 125 years of the factory's history. The Bees and Butterflies event is one of the many ways we connect with our local community, giving young people the chance to enjoy nature, get creative and make lasting memories during the summer holidays."

"Now in its 4th year, the Bees and Butterflies event continues to showcase the strong community spirit of the Tutbury and Hatton area. Nestlé Tutbury remains committed to supporting local communities through a range of events and initiatives, with employees taking pride in helping bring people together.

"Nestlé Tutbury has a rich manufacturing and coffee heritage. Home to one of the world's most recognisable coffee brands, Nescafé, the factory has been a proud part of the local community for generations. As the site celebrates its 125th anniversary, Nestlé continues to recognise the people, traditions and community partnerships that have shaped the factory's history and continue to support its future.”
