Nestlé Ireland was one of hundreds of companies who recently took part in events across the country to mark Ireland’s second National Workplace Wellbeing Day, which is organised by the Nutrition & Health Foundation (NHF).
Nestlé’s activities kicked off with a healthy Shredded Wheat and fresh fruit breakfast for the staff at the Citywest, Dublin, followed by an all-staff walk around the campus for the campaign’s Lunchtime Mile event.
Hundreds of employers, large and small, from the public and private sectors supported the day, which aims to improve employee health by promoting better nutrition and exercise in the workplace.
Companies organised activities including health checks, exercise and fitness classes, nutrition talks and cookery demonstrations.
Speaking on the day, Deirdre O’Donoghue, Country Manager, Nestlé Ireland, “This is an important initiative from Food & Drink Industry Ireland. As an FDII member, we are delighted to support it and to see it met with such enthusiasm within our own offices and across the country.”
“Recent research from the NHF shows that almost seven in ten employees in Ireland say that they are more likely to stay longer with employers who show an interest in their wellbeing so it’s a win-win situation for everyone.”
National Workplace Wellbeing Day is an initiative of Food and Drink Industry Ireland, part of Ibec.
