Six young creatives are seeing their artwork go from sketch to supermarket shelf as Nescafé Azera and The King’s Trust launch a new range of limited-edition coffee tins nationwide.
The designs, created by Imogen Joyce, Grace, Hannah Joseph, Charlie Jenkins, Abigail Walker and Calder Chen, each reflect a personal ambition or creative journey, from illustration and animation to entrepreneurship and mental health advocacy.
To mark the launch, four of the winners visited Nestlé’s Tutbury factory in Derbyshire, where Nescafé Azera is produced, to see their finished designs on-pack for the first time and see some of the limited-edition tins roll off the production line.
The visit brought together the partnership’s focus on young people’s potential with a behind-the-scenes look at UK coffee manufacturing. Established in 1901, Nestlé’s Tutbury factory can produce around 170,000 jars of instant coffee every 24 hours, making it one of the largest coffee factories in the world.
The limited-edition tins are part of the partnership between Nescafé Azera and The King’s Trust which has been running since 2021. The initiative helps support programmes that enable young people to gain confidence, learn new skills and take steps towards work, training or enterprise.
Catherine Hutchinson, Head of Partnership Management at The King’s Trust, said: “The King’s Trust partnership with Nescafé Azera, which began in 2021, offers young people an incredible opportunity and platform to share their design skills with a huge audience of coffee drinkers, as well as potential clients. For some of the winners, this will be the first time they have worked with a global brand. At The Trust, we know that gaining real-world work experience can be a challenge for some young people but is something they value. It helps to build confidence and can be life-changing. Congratulations and well done Abigail, Calder, Charlie, Grace, Hannah and Imogen."
Whilst at the Tutbury factory, the young people learnt about all the Nescafé products produced on site and its history, before going into the production section to see the tins come off the line.
Ingrid Hayes, Marketing Director for Nescafé UK and Ireland, said: “The team at Tutbury were delighted to welcome this year’s young creatives to the factory to see the Nescafé Azera tins in production. The 2026 tin designs are exceptional, and it’s thanks to the partnership between Nescafé Azera and King’s Trust that we get to offer these talented young people a platform to showcase their skills at a national scale. Shortly, their designs will be in people’s homes up and down the UK which is an incredible achievement.”
The winners and their tins:
| Imogen Joyce (Americano 90g) | This design reflects my dream of building a freelance illustration career rooted in my love for the botanical world. Filled with flowers, art tools and a quiet moment with coffee, it celebrates how The King’s Trust has helped me grow and inspired a future full of creativity, gratitude and possibility. |
| Grace (Americano 140g) | This design (a journal page set in the future) represents my ambitions, big and small. With amazing support from The King's Trust, I'm launching my dream journal and stationery brand, so I can continue creating a life that is conscious and slow, and support others to do the same. |
| Hannah Joseph (Intenso 90g) | My design represents the journey toward the goals I aspire to achieve, with mountains symbolising both challenge and possibility. My ambition is to build a lasting creative career and continue pushing my potential. The King’s Trust support means opportunity, confidence, and the belief that greater things are within reach. |
| Charlie Jenkins (Intenso 140g) | My design shows the inner workings of an individual in unbelievable pain, who didn’t know how to describe it. I want to help at least one person and let them know that there are people out there that can help. Shout out to The King’s Trust, they have helped me an unbelievable amount. Speak up. |
| Abigail Walker (Decaf 90g) | My design shows my love for worldbuilding. My future ambition is to be a full-time concept artist, creating various concept designs for different media. The King’s Trust support means a lot to me; it gave the means to get my first part time position and helped increase my confidence greatly. |
| Calder Chen (Decaf Americano 135g) | Human-Made Motion's inspired by my aspiration to become an animator, and to work with the style of classical animation. The King's Trust Enterprise Programme has allowed me to pursue animation, and I hope to produce animated films through my own animation studio. |
