It’s back! After an absence of eight years, Yorkie Honeycomb is returning to stores.
Featuring solid chunks of smooth honeycomb flavour milk chocolate and crunchy pieces of sweet honeycomb, the limited edition bar is a delicious twist on the classic chunky Yorkie.
Michael Kehoe, Brand Executive for Nestlé Confectionery said: “Yorkie fans are a passionate bunch, especially when it comes to honeycomb! We’ve had more requests for this bar than for any other flavour, so we’re chuffed to be bringing it back for 2023. It’s the creamy Yorkie milk chocolate you know and love, enlivened with honeycomb flavour and real pieces of crunchy honeycomb.”
Made in the city which gave the bar its name, Yorkie is the number one flavour in milk chocolate1 and is growing by more than 35 per cent year on year2.
The 42g Yorkie Honeycomb bar will be available in a wide range of supermarkets, wholesale, and convenience stores3 nationwide from 8 May.
Michael Kehoe added: “As a limited edition, it won’t be around for long, so get your hands on a bar while you can!”
Yorkie was launched in 1976 by Rowntree Mackintosh to help break into the solid chocolate bar sector. The company considered several more unlikely names, including ‘Jones’ and ‘O’Hara’ before deciding to name the bar after the city in which it is made.
Almost half a century later, Yorkie continues to be manufactured at Nestlé UK’s York factory, where 66 million bars are made each year. The factory is also home to KitKat, Aero, Polo and Milkybar. Yorkie Honeycomb has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and is made with cocoa sustainably sourced under the Nestlé Cocoa Plan.
