As a nation, we love to debate our favourite Quality Street varieties - and now, for the very first time, Nestlé can reveal which of the twist-wrapped treats really are most popular with British shoppers.
Since launching six weeks ago, the Quality Street web shop (www.qualitystreet.co.uk) has experienced huge demand for its personalised tins. And, the most popular pick and mix choices so far are the Purple One in first place, closely followed by the Green Triangle. Fruit Cremes take third and fourth spots for Strawberry Delight and Orange Creme respectively, while Caramel Swirl is just behind in fifth place, followed by the Toffee Finger. However, with orders for Christmas delivery open until 10 December, there is still plenty of time for the leader board to change.
So far, it’s a close race between the north and south of the UK for most Quality Street orders received. London is the city with most orders, and Kent, Essex and Surrey lead the county list. However, Cheshire, West Yorkshire and Lancashire are not far behind, while Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool and York are among the top ten cities.
Ellie Dent, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street said: “We knew that the web shop would be popular, but it has outperformed all our expectations since its launch. We’re delighted by the reaction but sorry that orders are taking longer to dispatch than we had hoped.
“We would like to assure customers that we have put in a series of measures to help manage the high demand, and that we are working around the clock to speed up delivery times. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Visitors to www.qualitystreet.co.uk, which is open all year round, can select up to six different sweets for their tins or opt for the classic Quality Street mix. They can personalise the tin with a name of their choice* and have it delivered straight to their door. The site also makes gifting easy, offering a free personalised card with every order. The 1kg tins of Quality Street cost £15.99 plus a £2.99 delivery charge to UK mainland addresses. In order to guarantee delivery by Christmas, orders must be placed on www.qualitystreet.co.uk by 10 December.
