Nestlé, the world’s largest food and drink company, has launched the Global Alliance for YOUth, a partnership of over 20 global businesses including, Facebook, Vodafone, Publicis Group, Starbucks and Microsoft – all united in their goal to tackle the global youth unemployment problem, which currently stands at 70 million.

The Global Alliance for YOUth platform will allow companies like Nestlé to collaborate with like-minded private sector partners to create many more and better opportunities for young people, thereby showing further leadership in creating value for business and society alike.

Nestlé in the UK and Ireland is playing a role in the Global Alliance for YOUth and will be exploring how to best utilise the new platform. We are proud to offer a number of career routes for young people to join Nestlé including:

  • Apprenticeships: Offering school leavers the chance to ‘earn while they learn’, apprenticeships at Nestlé UK and Ireland combine workplace training and study with a real, value-added role in our business.
  • Degree Apprenticeships: For those finishing their A-levels or equivalent, our degree apprenticeships offer job experience with funded study and an attractive salary package. Specialisms range from packaging to HR, Marketing to Finance.
  • Internships and Placements: Available for penultimate year university students, our 10-week internship offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience and explore a business function during the summer before their final year of university. Our 12-month placements offer the opportunity to have many new experiences, develop new skills and put your knowledge into practice, in a challenging role within a safe environment.
  • Graduate schemes: Our coveted scheme selects the brightest and the best graduates to join the forefront of the business. Opportunities exist across the business and include Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing and Science.

“We want to help equip the next generation to become the leaders of tomorrow, creative frontrunners in our companies, successful agripreneurs, entrepreneurs and game changers regardless of their field or level of expertise. By joining our forces, we will be able to do more to build a better future for future generations’”, said Laurent Freixe, Nestlé CEO for Zone Americas, founder of the Nestlé Needs YOUth Initiative.

Nestlé founded the Alliance for YOUth in Europe in 2014 with the purpose of helping prepare young people to enter the professional world. After its successful launch, the alliance was expanded to the Pacific Alliance countries (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) in 2017 and the Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) in December 2018.
