From Buxton with love - celebrating Nestlé communities

Celebrating Nestlé communities with Scott Reid

A film showcasing Buxton in Derbyshire will kick off a new series profiling the UK communities where Nestlé has a presence.

The video features Scott Reid, Environment and Sustainability Officer at Nestlé Waters’ Buxton site who gives a whistle-stop tour of the local area and attractions showing why he, like many others, are proud of the town before exploring some of the ways that Nestlé is working to support the local community.

Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire in the East Midlands often described as "the gateway to the Peak District National Park".

Nestlé Waters has been a part of the Buxton community since 1992 and the site currently employs more than 220 people, three quarters of whom live within 15 miles of Buxton.

The factory is home to Buxton Natural Mineral Water and Nestlé Pure Life and produces more than 2 million bottles a day.

The state-of-the-art factory, which opened in 2012 following a £35 million pound investment, produces one of the lightest weight bottled water products in the UK, using an average of 25 per cent less PET plastic across the range of Buxton and Nestlé Pure Life.

What’s more, the site is powered by 100 percent renewable electricity and around 30 percent is generated by hydropower, which means this bottled water is powered by water.

Nestlé Waters takes pride in working with the community on a variety of initiatives, from promoting healthy hydration and encouraging recycling behaviours in the local community, to ensuring sustainable operations and continuously developing their employees.

Scott Reid said:

“We are very proud to be a part of the Buxton community. Our factory here is one of the most innovative and efficient bottling facilities in Europe and we are determined to continue to make our products in the most sustainable way for many generations to enjoy under the famous name of Buxton.”
