2018 Nestlé Academy Graduates on the right (race) course

Graduates and apprentices from across Nestlé have celebrated their graduation from the company's academy at a glitzy evening at York racecourse.

Last night, the tables were set, the lights dazzled and the awards were polished for the 2018 Nestlé Academy graduation ceremony. In a room buzzing with excitement, the Nestlé Academy graduates and apprentices took the time to celebrate the completion of their programmes. Many of Nestlé’s senior leaders were also in attendance and Nestlé UK and Ireland CEO, Stefano Agostini, handed out the awards.

Stefano Agostini, CEO for Nestlé UK & Ireland, said:

"The Nestlé Academy graduation ceremony is one of my favourite nights of the year. I am very proud of all those who have come into our business, brought fresh ideas and enthusiasm and have been learning new skills and getting started in their chosen careers. Congratulations to everybody who won an award and I wish all of our colleagues the very best for the future. It was a pleasure to spend a great evening celebrating with each and every one of you."

Every year Nestlé Academy takes time out to have this night of celebration, a chance to commend the hardworking graduates and apprentices that have brought their enthusiasm and energy to projects across all of Nestlé’s UK and Ireland operations. This year was the third year the graduation ceremony has been held at York Racecourse, a big event in the Academy calendar and an amazing opportunity to celebrate the various successes each employee has brought to the business.

The 100 or more attendees, all dressed to impress, shared stories of the achievements and successful projects that academy members have worked on over the last 12 months. There were also six awards announced at the end of the evening for individuals who stood out and had clearly demonstrated skills within Nestlé’s leadership framework, they were:

  • Eleanor Langton, Engineering Graduate – Make a Difference
  • Aimee Marshall, Sales Graduate - Compete and Connect Externally
  • Natasha Lawless, Marketing Graduate - Lead to Win
  • Afif Kanaan, Manufacturing Graduate - Manage for Results
  • Hollie Arundel, Finance Apprentice - Grow Talent and Team
  • Laura Whiteley, Commercial Apprentice – Collaborate Internally

Natasha Lawless, Marketing Graduate said,

“It was a complete surprise to win the Lead to Win award, I did not know I was nominated for it until I heard them read out my project and what I had been doing, it is really nice to be recognised for the work I did whilst I was in that team.”

Afif Kanaan, Manufacturing Graduate said

“The project I won this award for was one of my first projects when I started my programme with Nestlé Academy, I have done lots more since and it is nice to see a project I worked on be recognised by Nestlé two years later as making a big difference.”
