Nestlé UK and Ireland is celebrating after taking home an industry award.

Nestlé picked up the Collaboration and Partnership Award at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards along with partner First Milk.

The awards annually recognise corporate and individual excellence in food processing at all levels and the finals took place at the London Hilton Bankside on Thursday 8th February.

The Collaboration and Partnership award recognised the importance of the 20-year work of Nestlé and First Milk to establish the Milk Plan. The programme focusses on improving the environmental and social impact of UK dairy farmers. The initiative works around the Nestlé sites in Girvan and Dalston and involves 83 dairy farmers.

Nestlé UK and Ireland Responsible Sourcing Manager, Sobia Naheed, said: “We are honoured to have been recognised alongside First Milk for such a prestigious award. It is testament to all of the hard work which has been done by the teams working together for two decades and recognises the importance of sustainable farming practices.”

Packaging Specialist Izzy Duignan was a finalist in the Future Talent category. Izzy joined Nestlé UK & Ireland as a Packaging Apprentice at Tutbury in 2019, straight from sixth form with no prior manufacturing experience and embraced the challenge with a hands-on approach and can-do attitude. She immediately demonstrated her aptitude and, despite the challenges that came with starting her role during the coronavirus pandemic, quickly developed new skills.
