Aspiring young footballers have been given a boost with a partnership with Buxton.
Buxton Water has renewed its partnership with Buxton FC Academy for a third season. The sponsorship reflects the partners' commitment to championing young talented footballers while supporting and investing in the local community.
Grant McKenzie, Managing Director for Nestlé Waters UK, said: "We have worked well together over the last two years to build a strong partnership to support these young players and are delighted to partner again with the Academy for the 2021/22 season".
"The pandemic may have presented many challenges, but we have each remained committed to ensuring the success of our partnership and that the benefits of our collaboration could be enjoyed by the young players. Buxton's renewed sponsorship of the Academy for the 2021-22 season, allows the connection between our organisations to continue to flourish."
David Hopkins, Chairman of Buxton Football Club said: "As we enter the third year of running our Academy programme here at Buxton FC, in partnership with Buxton & Leek College and the University of Derby, we have been delighted with the standards attained by our Academy students, both on and off the pitch. Our new cohort, coupled with the existing second year group means we have over 50 students now furthering their education and football career on a full time basis at Buxton Football Club".
"This is all aided by the support we receive from Buxton Water, allowing us also to further our now very-strong community engagement, including hosting other voluntary sporting groups and promoting sport and healthy living in Buxton and the surrounding area."
