School Leaver Awards: Nestlé gets nominated

The All About School Leaver Awards are happening in May 2018. The finalists have been announced and Nestlé has been shortlisted for three awards! Which are:

  • Best level of support
  • Best social media
  • Top Employer – Science & FMCG

Finalists for the Best Level of Support and Top Employer categories were determined from employee satisfaction surveys completed by apprentices. At Nestlé we support our apprentices and Academy employees with functional Academy champions who, alongside dedicated support at a site level, work closely with Academy trainees and functional teams to provide placements suitable for individuals’ career and development plans. Apprentices are also supported through centralised pastoral management and internal buddy and mentoring systems, as well as strong relationships with education and training providers.

Nestlé have also been nominated for Best Social Media, a category shortlist determined by a student panel. The Academy Social Media channels at Nestlé are managed internally with significant involvement encouraged from the apprentices themselves. The user-generated nature of the content shared on the channels provides potential candidates with a genuine and informative insight into Nestlé Academy programmes. So this award reflects the efforts put in by the apprentices themselves.

“We’re exceptionally proud to have been shortlisted for these 3 awards at the All About School Leaver Awards. Inspiring and supporting a new generation of talent is in our DNA, through our Apprenticeship programmes we are able to provide opportunities to those at the start of their careers whilst also building key skills and expertise to better meet current and future needs of the business. Our Apprentices are extremely talented, engaged and loyal, and it’s encouraging to know that the time and care we invest in them has been recognised. These nominations reflect the hard work of the apprentices themselves and the dedication of all those who support and develop them.”
Sarah Dwyer, Head of Talent Acquisition for Nestlé UK & Ireland.

Awards such as these help young people make more informed decisions about their future careers, by providing them with an insight into big businesses and their priorities. The development of all employees is of significant importance to Nestlé, but the Nestlé Academy really helps us to focus on the recruitment and development of entry-level employees, including apprentices and graduates.
