Preparing to enter the world of work: Alliance for YOUth launches Readiness for Work toolkit

Students

Alliance for YOUth, the business-led scheme launched by Nestlé committed to tackling youth unemployment in Europe, has launched a 'Readiness for Work' toolkit to help young people prepare to enter the job market.

The toolkit comes in 12 languages, and provides practical help on issues including job searching, managing a social media profile and securing and preparing for interviews. Employees from Alliance member companies will use it to deliver workshops in universities, further education colleges and schools.

Last year, Nestlé expanded its Youth Employment Initiative in Europe to create Alliance for YOUth a collaboration between leading companies that has helped more than 50,000 young Europeans find jobs or training opportunities in its first year alone. In 2013, through the Youth Employment Initiative Nestlé UK & Ireland committed to provide 1,900 employment opportunities to young people by 2016 and offer employability and skills training to young people in local communities close to its sites.

Nestlé also launched its Global Youth Initiative earlier this year.
