Nestlé is bringing Garden Gourmet to UK supermarkets with the next generation of meat-alternatives, the Sensational range.

From 20th September, plant-based fans will be able to get their hands on the vegan products, which have already proved hugely popular in Continental Europe and UK hospitality.

From succulent meat-free burgers to tender and flavoursome vegan fillet pieces, the Garden Gourmet Sensational range has the 'meatiest' flavour and a juicier than ever texture.

Made with high quality ingredients, including responsibly sourced soya beans, the range offers a healthy* and versatile choice of vegan products for food lovers looking to cut down on meat but not wanting to compromise on taste.

Honza Dusanek, Managing Director for Food and Dairy at Nestlé UK and Ireland said:

"With more and more people looking for great-tasting, more sustainable plant-based food, we are very excited to bring the Garden Gourmet range to UK supermarkets with our tastiest and juiciest Sensational range.

"We want people to fall in love with plant-based eating at first bite which is why we have worked hard to deliver even more meat-like flavour and texture to satisfy even the most discerning of taste buds.

"Our aim is to make plant-based food an easier and more attractive choice for people who want food that is good for them and good for the planet so our new Garden Gourmet range will be offered at good value to help consumers enjoy it week in, week out."

Introducing Garden Gourmet

The range initially includes four delicious and versatile plant-based products, consisting of the incredibly juicy Sensational burger, mince, Cumberland-style sausages and Mediterranean-style fillet pieces which can be easily switched into family favourite meals.

As well as being delicious, the new Garden Gourmet's meat substitute products are high in protein and are a source of fibre. None of the products are high in fat, saturated fat, sugar or salt meaning they have no red labels under the colour-coded nutrition labelling system.

Not only do Garden Gourmet products taste great and are good for you*, they are also good for the planet** and the brand has committed to be carbon neutral by 2022.

Garden Gourmet has already been available in the UK to caterers and food service industry through Nestlé Professional. Subway UK uses Garden Gourmet brand as the sole provider of vegan 'meatballs' in their hugely popular 'Meatless Meatball Marinara', which is available in Subway stores across the UK. Last year, the 'Meatless Meatball Marinara' claimed the top spot at PETA's annual Vegan Food Awards in the Best Vegan Sandwich category.

Nestlé is continuously expanding its offering of delicious and more sustainable plant-based food with options across its wide range of food and beverages, including dairy-free coffee mixes and Carnation Vegan condensed milk alternative. As part of its commitment to achieve net zero by 2050 the company is increasing the number of 'carbon neutral' brands it offers to give consumers the opportunity to contribute to the fight against climate change.

In June, Nestlé launched Wunda, a fully versatile pea-based milk alternative that is high in protein and fibre and has been certified as carbon neutral by the UK Carbon Trust. Earlier this year, the company also launched KitKat V, a vegan version of KitKat, which is made with a rice-based alternative to milk and certified by the Vegan society. KitKat also pledged to become carbon neutral by 2025.
