The summer Paralympic Games might be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but five top athletes will be helping you start your day right by getting active.

Nestlé Cereals announced its partnership with the ParalympicsGB in January ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Tokyo, which were due to start in August.

However, now due to the Games being postponed for a year and with gyms closed, British Paralympic hopefuls will be presenting live fitness sessions via the Nestlé Cereal Instagram channel.

Starting on Tuesday (16th June) at 9.30am for five weeks, the athletes will be leading a workout from their homes to show how they are keeping fit and top of their form during the UK’s lockdown. The sessions will also include an insight into their morning breakfast regime, a question and answer session and introduce the athlete taking over the following week.

The first athlete taking over is Rio 2016 Paralympic gold medallist and World Champion in Table Tennis, Will Bayley.

Will said: “I am delighted to be part of the collaboration between Nestlé Cereals and ParalympicsGB and I really hope this inspires people to get up and get active at a time when getting motivated can be difficult. Although we won’t be going to Tokyo this summer, we are still training and keeping active, and hope we can help others do the same.”

Toby Baker, Regional Marketing Director Nestlé Cereals UKA said: “Starting your day right is so important. We hope our partnership with ParalympicsGB really does motivate UK households to get up, get active and eat well for a healthier lifestyle, not only with an active start to the day but also at the breakfast table.”

Mike Sharrock, Chief Executive of the British Paralympic Association, said: “We know many of our talented Paralympians have come up with innovative ways to continue their training regimes for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Games during lockdown.

“The Paralympic movement is all about celebrating inclusivity and what people can achieve when given the opportunity and this new initiative from Nestlé Cereals will bring families together and encourage them to feel the benefits of leading more active lives.”
