The Chief Executive for Nestlé UK & Ireland and the Vice President for Nestlé Cereals welcomed the local MP at the Cereal Partner's factory near Trowbridge in Wiltshire.

CEO Stefano Agostini met MP for Chippenham Michelle Donelan at the factory which makes Shredded Wheat and Shreddies, on Friday (4 October).

Mr Agostini and Ms Donelan were given a tour of the factory by Cereal Partner's Vice President Gharry Eccles and factory manager Craig Ainsborough.

Ms Donelan heard all about how the cereals are made and saw them on the production line. This year Nestlé Cereals announced a partnership with Public Health England (PHE) for its latest Change4Life’s campaign and a number of brand began displaying the 'Good Choice' badge.

Nestlé Cereals has been reformulating recipes for more than a decade, reducing sugar and salt while increasing levels of whole grain. Additionally, every Nestlé cereal with the green banner now contains at least eight grams of whole grain per serving and has whole grain as the number one ingredient with the majority high in fibre.

Mr Agostini said: "It was great to meet Michelle Donelan and welcome her to the Cereal Partners factory which is at the heart of her constituency. I would like to thank Gharry Eccles and his team for hosting us at the factory in Staverton, which is a world class example of manufacturing in the UK. It was a great opportunity to meet our incredibly hard working people and showcase our cereal brands."

MP Michelle Donelan said: "I was really pleased to return to the Cereal Partners Factory in Staverton to meet Nestlé UK and Ireland’s CEO Stefano Agostini. There has been a factory of one nature or other on this sight since the early 1800’s employing local people.

"Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. I know Cereal Partners UK have worked hard to ensure their cereals are healthier and more nutritious. They produce some of the country’s best known cereals from the factory at Staverton, which are on breakfast tables all up and down the UK and are part of many free breakfast club initiatives.”
