Nestlé has today, Monday, 1st April, started to manage European cross-border transport from its new European Transportation Planning Hub based in York, north Yorkshire. The first of its kind for Nestlé in Europe, the Hub holds responsibility for managing all of Nestlé’s cross-border transportation in Europe. This simplifying, standardising and centralisation of Nestlé’s European transportation processes will see over 20 roles eventually transfer to the city.

Nestlé UK Director of Supply Chain, David Hix said: “I am pleased that York was selected as the location of Nestlé’s new European Transport Hub. This new ‘Centre of Excellence’ joins our existing UK team, and will utilise the very latest in technology to manage Nestlé’s transportation activities throughout Europe. It is a great sign of confidence in the city and our UK team’s achievements that the Hub was selected to be in York”.

The new European Transport Hub is based at Nestlé House on the York campus. The Hub is office based and will not increase traffic in or out of Nestlé’s York campus.

Around 2,500 people work at Nestlé's York campus which is home to offices, a large confectionery factory and a world class research and development centre.
