Purina ONE, Ireland’s No. 1* Advanced Nutrition brand, are delighted once again this year to be the main sponsor of RTÉ One series Cat Hospital. Returning to RTÉ One tonight, Friday 3rd September, for the launch of its second series, the popular show will once again take viewers inside Ireland’s first purpose built veterinary clinic that caters exclusively for cats.

Purina ONE Bifensis is an advanced formula with Lactobacilius proven to strengthen your cat’s natural defenses from within to help her stay healthy and happy now and for years to come.

Cat Hospital is set in the leafy environs of Glanmire outside Cork City, and is run by veterinary specialist Clare Meade who, together with her dedicated team, offers highly specialised care to their feline clientele.  Each week the six-part observational series sponsored by Purina ONE, delivers a slice of life in the clinic. Cases can range from grooming and neutering to house calls as well as some life and death medical emergencies.  Each episode reveals the drama, tension and heart-warming moments as Clare’s team tend to the creatures in their care. As cat owners await diagnoses and the outcomes of surgery, viewers will see the dedication and bonds of love between cats and their owners, as well as dealing with the unique challenges that the last year has brought.

In Episode one:

Artist Joseph Keyes brings his cat Frankie to the clinic for an on-going problem; squamous cell carcinoma, which is a potentially life-threatening condition. Frankie is one of the Cat Hospital’s favourite patients. Over the past few years, he has had several operations for skin cancer. He has already lost an eye and one of his ears as a result. A test reveals that Frankie’s skin cancer has re-occured and he may end up losing his second eye. Clare refers Frankie to soft tissue experts at Gilabbey Veterinary Hospital where he undergoes several weeks of electrochemotherapy. It’s a tense period for everyone and only time will tell if the treatment will be successful.

The six-part series, sponsored by Purina ONE advanced nutrition begins on Friday 3rd September on RTÉ One at 8.30 pm. It can also be live streamed on the RTÉ Player and will be available for 30 days catch up on demand.
