Nestlé Waters say thank you to the NHS and provide support to local frontline workers

Buxton coloured caps

Employees at Nestlé Waters’ site on Waterswallows Road, Buxton, have been showing their respect and thanks to the NHS by decorating its huge windows with a giant rainbow and joining in the clap for key workers.

Tributes have also been paid to Nestlé Waters employees for going above and beyond to get essential supplies of water to local care settings.

With more than 250,000 bottles of water being donated across the UK and Ireland, employees from the factory in Buxton have delivered almost 10,000 bottles to those in need in our local communities across Derbyshire and Greater Manchester.

Michel Beneventi, BEO for Nestlé Waters UK said: “Our team in Buxton are doing a fantastic job at getting bottles of water to where it is needed most, in a safe way. At a time like this, drinking water is vital to staying healthy and hydrated. We have been contacted by key workers in hospitals, care homes and emergency services, where they are unable to use refillables or use water fountains and are struggling to hydrate their patients and teams working on the front line of this crisis. We are proud to help by donating bottled water to support those most in need during the coronavirus pandemic.”

Buxton clapping for carers

Dedicated employees from the Buxton site have been gathering pallets of our natural water brands to donate to the local NHS, as well as care homes, ambulance and police teams. The team also responded to a request from the new Buxton Coronavirus Assessment Centre set up as a crucial hub for medical support in the local community, to supply bottles of water.

Karen Johnson from Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: “Staff are rushed off their feet and needing to be kept hydrated easily during these challenging times. So, an extremely kind donation from local water company, Nestlé Waters at Buxton, made our day. Thank you, it was much appreciated.”

The Buxton brand is also championing The 2.6 Challenge, a campaign set up to help UK charities who are usually supported by the London Marathon event. As a proud sponsor of the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event for the past 10 years, Buxton has been encouraging people to get involved with the challenge which launched on Sunday 26th April, the day that would have been the 40th London Marathon, via www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk
