Our archivist estimates that Mackintosh's Toffee de Luxe was first launched in 1917 as a re-branding of Mackintosh's Celebrated Toffee (1890), but she's not a hundred per cent convinced of this, despite the evidence being pretty good, and the date may be revised later. If you have evidence of an earlier date, why not tweet it to us @NestleUKI. Our archivist would love to see it.
Mackintosh's Toffee de Luxe was later made available in tube form and called Toffo. TDL, as the brand is called in its Halifax factory, is still part of the Quality Street assortment.
Fox's Glacier Mints were sold to Northern Foods in 2001.
