we have raised 300000 for macmillan cancer support

Nestlé UK have raised over £300,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support after beginning their partnership over two and a half years ago.

With every cake donated, bought and eaten; every mile walked, run, swam, rowed and cycled; and every charity ball attended and raffle entered; the continued enthusiasm for fundraising by Nestlé employees has made a huge difference to Macmillan and the people they support through their services.

Highlights from 2018 included:

  • Nestlé’s involvement in Macmillan Mighty Hikes which raised nearly £8,000;
  • the sponsorship of the Buxton London Marathon which brought in over £18,000;
  • Macmillan Coffee Mornings which raised over £7,000;
  • incredible charity events, including the Supplier Awards and the Tutbury Ball which brought in £12,000 alone.

Every single penny raised is going to help people living with cancer. The £300,000 donation is enough to support Macmillan frontline staff to run the Macmillan support line for over three months, helping to answer more than 15,000 calls and enquiries from people who need practical support or just need to talk.

Hannah Clouter, Macmillan Partnership Manager, said: “Thank you to everyone across Nestlé for your continued support to Macmillan Cancer Support. Every day over 1,000 people are told the life changing news that they have cancer and with your help we’re able to reach and support more people living with cancer when they need it the most.’
