Nestlé switches to 100% renewable electricity across the UK and Ireland

Nestlé is pleased to announce that from 1st April all of its grid-supplied electricity in the UK and Ireland will come from renewable sources. 

This forms part of Nestlé UK and Ireland’s roadmap to support the company’s global RE100* commitment to procure 100 percent of its electrical energy from renewable power sources and the company’s UK carbon reduction target of 40 percent by 2020.

Andy Griffiths, Head of Environmental Sustainability, Nestlé UK & Ireland said: 

“Nestlé is committed to making continual efforts to improve the environmental performance of its operations. The move to 100 percent renewable grid-supplied electricity is an important milestone on our global journey towards 100 percent renewable electricity however this is only the beginning and we are working on other renewable energy projects to support this commitment.” 

*Nestlé is committed to tackling climate change and has set targets to achieve 100 percent renewable electrical energy across their operations, through RE100, a global initiative to engage, support and showcase influential companies committed to using 100 percent renewable power that now involves more than 30 companies globally.
