Baby born outside Nestlé York factory

When Harry Gilbert is older, he will have a great answer to the age-old question, “where were you born?

His parents Matthew and Alison Gilbert had already spent the early hours of the morning at the hospital due to Alison getting early signs of the baby’s arrival. After routine tests, they returned home to await further developments. After a few hours, they received the sign that the baby was finally ready to announce himself. However, traffic was not on their side and they faced a race against time to make it back to the hospital.

This baby was not waiting around and so his father was forced to stop outside the Nestlé factory in York, home of Kit Kat where 6 million bars are made a day. Seconds after calling 999, Harry was born and the first responders arrived shortly afterwards followed by the ambulance.

The newborn has been named after his grandfather and we are delighted to report that both mother and son are doing fine.

A hamper of treats has been sent to the happy family with our congratulations.
