Action for Children and Nestlé UK today celebrate the launch of a three year partnership, after the charity secured victory in the company’s Charity of Choice employee vote.

The partnership will see Nestlé’s UK employees up and down the country raising vital funds for Action for Children’s projects, at a national and local level. Nestlé has set a target of raising £250,000 each year.

Action for Children works in most communities in the UK, helping 50,000 of the UK’s most vulnerable and neglected children and young people overcome difficulties to reach their full potential.

Andy Harris, Director of Fundraising for Action for Children, said: “We are delighted that Nestlé staff voted us as their charity of choice for the next three years. Having their support will make an enormous difference, enabling us to get help to many, many more vulnerable children and families who need it so much at this time. We look forward to supporting all the Nestlé staff with their fundraising efforts, and on behalf of all the children and families they will be helping, would like to extend a massive thanks”

Nestlé employees have proved themselves very successful at raising money for good causes. Over the last five years, the company has raised over £1.1 million for The Variety Club, Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Alzheimer’s Society.

Paul Grimwood, Chairman and CEO, Nestlé UK and Ireland said; “Action for Children provides vital services for disadvantaged children and young children up and down the country. I’m confident the partnership will prove a huge success, allowing us to make an important difference to young lives in our communities.”

The partnership kicks off royal style, with employees at Nestlé sites up and down the country holding Diamond Jubilee ‘Street Parties’ with traditional British food and fete games.
