Nestlé Confectionery's 2013 KIT KAT Chunky Champion Campaign goes live

Kit Kat Chunky rangeFrom this week (week commencing January 14th, 2013)  Nestlé Confectionery will be putting consumers in the driving seat once again with the launch of a brand new KIT KAT Choose a Chunky Champion campaign.

KIT KAT Choose a Chunky Champion  follows on from the first and enormously successful campaign at the beginning of 2012 which proved to be a huge hit with retailers and shoppers alike.  It was the biggest confectionery singles event ever for Nestle Confectionery with over 600k votes cast on Facebook, 11 million bars sold[1] and very importantly drove penetration by adding 200k new young consumers into the category[2].

Choose a Chunky Champion  promises to be even bigger and better. With four delicious new limited edition flavours to choose from consumers will be encouraged to try each KIT KAT Chunky flavour before casting their vote on a dedicated Facebook page across a longer 8 week voting period.

KIT KAT Chunky flavour with the most votes by 15 March 2013 will be crowned the winner and unveiled as the nation’s new Chunky Champion. The winner will then become a permanent part of the KIT KAT range joining the 2012 winner – KIT KAT Chunky Peanut Butter.

Each new flavour will be represented by their very own flavour hero:

  • KIT KAT Chunky Mint is represented by Mintinator and is a great combination of KIT KAT wafer enrobed in delicious mint flavoured chocolate.
  • KIT KAT Chunky Coconut supported by Coconutrix, sees the famous KIT KAT wafer covered in a delightful coconut flavour chocolate.
  • KIT KAT Chunky Hazelnut, backed by Hazelnutter, adds a hazelnut cream filling to make for a mouth-watering new KIT KAT Chunky.
  • KIT KAT Chunky Choc Fudge assisted by Fudgetron sees the addition of a layer of delectable chocolate fudge.

Backed by a huge £5m media campaign across TV, digital, outdoor, radio and mobile the KIT KAT Choose a Chunky Champion campaign allows consumers to vote for their favourite across a number of various different media platforms including Blippar and Shazam.
