The former Munster and Ireland rugby hero David Wallace made a special visit to Askeaton where he officially launched the Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland and Nestlé Ireland’s charity partnership with Down Syndrome Ireland which aims to €70,000 over two years.

The funds raised will go towards Limerick DSI services including its teacher programme, speech & language therapy and new parent supports at its Limerick branch as well as contributing to creating a new Multi-Sensory and Family Room in its national support office in Dublin to provide a respite space for family members when visiting Dublin for hospital appointments.

Pictured at the launch event are: Paul van Rooij, Factory Manager, Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland Ltd, David Wallace, former Ireland rugby player, Gary Owen, Chief Executive, Down Syndrome Ireland, Kevin O’Gorman, father of Limerick DSI member and members of Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland’s charity committee.
