No Limits For Nestle Apprentices As Search Is On For New Talent

Nestlé Confectionery is mounting a drive to recruit six apprentices in York, supporting the government Apprenticeships initiative which is fronted by Sir Alan Sugar in current TV advertising.
Apprenticeships within Nestlé cover a wide spectrum of disciplines from Engineering to Business Administration. Apprentices combine study at local colleges with on the job training alongside experienced Nestlé employees who have been specially trained to coach and develop apprentices to help them become confident professionals.
Business Administration apprentices work within a specialist business area such as Consumer or Customer Services for two years, gaining the skills and experience needed for their career. They receive a regular salary and receive support form the company in acquiring an NVQ in Business Administration.
Engineering Advanced Apprenticeships take four years and lead to a level three Engineering NVQ and can lead to a foundation degree course or even a BSC.
A current apprentice, James Cuthbert, says of his experience, “There are plenty of opportunities here and former apprentices have climbed up the career ladder to become process engineers. Nestlé sets you up so well for whatever you want to do. There are loads of courses here both internal and external – it’s up to you to take advantage of them.”
