Make Space for Health
Make Space for Health is an innovative programme developed by Nestlé and 4Children which aims to increase nutrition, health and wellness awareness among youth workers and promote healthy lifestyles to young people in outside of school.

It aims to provide inspiring and informative materials to educate young people; work with youth settings to ensure workers are confident and able to engage with young people on health related issues and work with central government, local authorities, health partners and local and national agencies to maximise their impact in out-of-school settings.
The programme is steered by an Advisory Panel of academic, health and Government experts. The Make Space for Health pilot programme will be evaluated and recommendations presented to Government by July 2009 with the intention of wider rollout.
There are two levels to Make Space for Health:
1) Healthy living pilot programme (launch July 1): Partnerships with central government, local authorities, health partners and local and national agencies to maximise their impact on nutrition, health and wellness outside of school. Three pathfinder areas: York, Leeds, Essex.
Covering four topics:
• Move (physical activity)
• Eat (nutrition)
• Feel (emotional health)
• Me (personal health)
2) Making Healthier Easier: an ongoing programme of practical health and wellness support for youth workers in all 1300 Make Space clubs: newsletters, online information and activities (developed with the British Nutrition Foundation).
