BUXTON NATURAL MINERAL WATER

Buxton Natural Mineral Water is bottled at source in Buxton, Derbyshire. This number one British Natural Mineral Water emerges from one of the oldest and deepest mineral water sources in Europe. Its unique source gives it a strong sense of heritage and its wide pack range makes it accessible and relevant to all members of the family.

Buxton is a spa town standing over 1,000 feet above sea level and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Peak District.

According to the British Geological Survey, the water of Buxton we drink from the Source today fell as rain over 5,000 years ago. This was long before the atmosphere was polluted by the discoveries of the 19th and 20th Centuries. During its amazing nearly one-mile long downward journey, the water filters through the ancient limestone of the Peak District, acquiring a natural balance of minerals. At a certain point, the water hits a fault in the rock strata which forces it back upwards. It emerges at the Source in Buxton town Centre at a constant temperature of 27.5 degrees Centigrade.

Buxton Water is not currently available in the Republic of Ireland.

VITTEL NATURAL MINERAL WATER

Vittel Bonne Source is one of the great still Natural Mineral Waters of the world.

The history of Vittel dates back to 1854 when it was discovered by Doctor Louis Bouloumié. Its source lies in the heart of 1,200 acres of natural, unspoilt countryside in the beautiful Vosges region of France.

Before emerging at Vittel, the water acquires its unique mineral balance as it makes its way through deep rock tunnels beneath this protected area.

These days, Vittel is a lively spa resort commercialised in partnership with Club Med. With the accent on outdoor living as well as the traditional thermal spa treatments, it is a haven for those seeking physical and spiritual renewal.

Vittel is distributed by a third party in the Republic of Ireland.

PERRIER

Bottled at Source in Vergèze, southern France, Perrier is the No. 1 naturally sparkling mineral water in the world.

Perrier Firsts

The story of Perrier
It was 218 BC when Hannibal discovered an effervescent spring in Vergèze in the South of France. But it was more than 2,200 years later before an Englishman, St. John Harmsworth, realised the great potential of the spring.

Harmsworth, brother of the newspaper magnate, went to France in 1903 to convalesce. He was introduced to the spring in Vergèze by a Dr. Perrier who advised him to drink the water as, he said, it had health-giving properties. Harmsworth was intrigued by the sparkling, bubbly water and recognised its commercial possibilities. He bought the spring and named it Perrier after the doctor.

He ordered Perrier bottles to be blown in French green glass in the shape of the Indian clubs he used for exercising during his convalescence.

A natural and creative marketing man, Harmsworth advertised Perrier as ‘the champagne of table waters’ and sent bottles to his friends abroad as a ‘decent water to drink with your whisky’.

Perrier’s Advertising
“Eau-la-la” was the beginning of a 15-year advertising campaign for Perrier. Originally created for a single poster, the “Eau” theme had so much impact that a campaign was built around it. Throughout the 1980s, hundreds of Perrier “Eau” advertisements were spawned. There was never a word written about the brand but the famous French bottle was always the star.

Taking the brand into the Millennium, the internationally acclaimed icon campaign highlighted the desirability and unique refreshment that Perrier provides. Einstein posters showed the genius enjoying Perrier.

There is something for everyone at www.perrier.com - games, information, a gallery of Perrier's famous avante garde advertising, and drinks recipes.

Perrier is distributed by a third party in the Republic of Ireland.
