PREPARATION
Although Infant formulas are safe due to their very low water content, it is during the preparation time that contamination can occur.
Mothers and carers will need to ensure a high level of hygiene is maintained when preparing the baby's formula.

- Always check the temperature before feeding your baby

Preparation of feeds:
It is during preparation that contamination and incorrect dilution can happen, so it is essential to follow the manufacturer's preparation guidelines as they are designed to reduce the risk of contamination and allow your baby to grow and thrive.
- Wash your hands before preparing a feed
- Always use sterilised utensils when preparing your baby's formula
- Always use cooled previously boiled water when reconstituting powdered infant formula
- Measure the correct amount of water using the graduation markings on the bottle or utensil
- Measure and level the correct amount of scoops (using the scoop provided with the product) and consult the feeding table that comes with the infant formula you have chosen
- Do not add any additional ingredients to your baby's food e.g. honey, syrup, eggs, etc. as this can harm your baby
- Immediately replace the teat and cap (avoid handling the teat, especially the tip)
- Shake the bottle until the formula is fully dissolved
- Always check the temperature before feeding your baby (as in the picture shown). If the formula is still too hot, allow to cool some more
- Check that the size of the hole in the teat is the right size
