Nestlé has developed assessment tools to help healthcare professionals to identify nutritional status in several clinical situations. Click on the attachments to the right to view what they look like. These assesment tools are available free of charge. (See bottom of page for contact details).
Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA)
The MNA provides a quick and easy, non-invasive means of screening and assessing nutritional status, with the particular aim of identifying malnutrition in the elderly. The MNA has been validated by a number of international and UK studies and has proved to be an extremely effective measure of malnutrition status in the elderly.

Adult Malabsorption Index This clinically proven screening tool helps identify individuals with malabsorption, and provides guidance on feed choice.
Crohn's Disease Activity Index This tool helps assess disease activity and severity and provides guidance on feed choice. Different versions are available for paediatric and adult patients.
