Nestlé wins Best Supplier Engagement Award 2014

Nearly 200 of the world's leading responsible business experts gathered at Ethical Corporation's Fifth Annual Responsible Business Awards ceremony in London’s Mayfair on Monday, 29th September 2014. Around 400 entries were received covering a range of sectors and industries from all over the world, confirming the fact that responsible business is steadily becoming mainstream.

Nominated for Best Supplier Engagement, Nestlé received praise by the judges for making programs very clear and scalable with well-defined standards and targets as well as tracking. They also found “Nestlé’s strong commitment to traceability back to source” impressive. Clear engagement was shown both bottom-up and top-down, with suppliers, along with helping suppliers deliver on sustainability goals proactively, and against firm and clear targets.

We are delighted to win this award which was collected by Robin Sundaram (Nestlé UK&I Procurement Lead for Responsible Sourcing) & Inder Poonaji (Nestlé UK&I Head of Environmental Sustainability).

Marco Gonçalves, Nestlé Group Head of Procurement said:

“At Nestlé, consumer's trust is a key priority. For this reason, we’re focused on ensuring that our raw materials are responsibly sourced. This starts with knowing where they come from and how they’re produced."

Benjamin Ware, Nestlé Group Manager of Responsible Sourcing said:

“In the future, someone will look at this prize and think about the thousands of Nestlé suppliers and farmers that have become more sustainable. Robin Sundaram and I will still think about the thousands more waiting for us to come, understand, share and improve."
