ANNA

Project Manager - Business Analysis and Research Department

In 2000 I graduated from Aston University with a degree in Business Administration and French.  I decided to pursue a career in Finance and was employed on a graduate training scheme at a large FMCG company.  During this time I studied for the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification and completed it in November 2004.  Once the training scheme ended I was promoted to a business analyst and subsequently a senior business analyst based in France.  In this role I was responsible for providing financial information and guidance in order to maximize the Profit & Loss results, dealing with various teams from marketing to distribution and sales.

Having come to the end of my three year assignment in France I took some time off to travel around South America and came back to the UK where I joined Nestlé in my current role.

I joined in March 2006 as a Project Manger in the BARD team.  BARD (which stands for Business Analysis, Research department), provides an internal consulting service to Nestlé in the UK, advising on optimal solutions to strategic, operational and financial problems.  This can be anything from acquisitions and mergers or company and market reviews to investment proposals and decision support.

In the six months I have been at Nestlé I have been exposed to a wide range of commercial decisions which has allowed me to put into practice some of the techniques I had learnt whilst studying.  Whilst this may not be a typical career route for an accountant to follow I have found that I have been able to broaden my knowledge and skills as the projects I have been working on have concerned many different functions and divisions with the business.  I look forward to my future at Nestlé.
