Nestlé’s Easter eggs have less packaging, but are as much of a treat as ever
This Easter, Nestlé is the first major confectionery company to remove plastic packaging from most of our Easter eggs. We’ve also managed to use 30% less packaging overall, saving a huge 700 tonnes of packaging materials.
Nestlé sells about one in four Easter eggs in the UK, with favourite brands such as SMARTIES®, KIT KAT® and AERO®. We’ve worked hard to respond to people’s concerns about bulky Easter egg packaging and, by removing most of the plastic, have made our packaging as easy to recycle as possible.
The old plastic inserts in small and medium–sized eggs have been replaced with a 100 per cent recyclable card basket to secure the egg.

So the egg might look smaller, but importantly for chocolate lovers, the amount of chocolate remains exactly the same!
