Nestlé Ireland teams up with Jack and Jill to raise vital funds to help families across Ireland

Nestlé Ireland has teamed up with the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation as its Charity of the Year for 2010. The partnership, which runs from January to December 2010, will see Nestlé Ireland and its employees raise vital funds for the Foundation throughout the year.

The money will help provide direct funding to families of children with brain damage who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home respite care.

These are children who, as a result of their condition, require intensive home nursing care. Speaking at the launch of the new partnership, Oliver Sutherland, Nestlé Ireland Country Business Director said: “The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation was chosen by our employees because of the vital care it provides to families in every community throughout Ireland. We’re looking forward to making this partnership a huge success with our employees getting involved in lots of fundraising activities through the country.

Some of the nationwide fundraising activities to be undertaken by Nestlé Ireland employees this year include:

  • The Nestlé Ireland ‘Spring Clean’, where employees will be asked to root out and recycle their old mobile phones, laptops, computers and digital cameras to help raise vital funds. 250 old mobile phones can pay for one months nursing care or one family!
  • Nestlé Ireland employees are already signing up to participate in a number of marathons, fun days, hill–walks and outdoor activities throughout the country to raise vital sponsorship funding.
  • Kicking off our fundraising programme in January and raising the dial on our fundraising target, all employees participated in a ‘Nestlé’s Got Talent’ talent show.
  •  Always a motivating fundraising activity – Nestlé employees will be given the opportunity to ‘Win a Week off Work’.
